KOALA Story Cards
Previous research has shown that hypothetical scenarios are effective ways to inspire discussions with children, by making them feel they are not being judged. Therefore, we have developed a series of hypothetical scenarios about a cartoon character named Bertie, who is an 8-year-old koala bear who likes playing with tablets, but is not always certain how to cope with unusual events taking place during his use of the mobile apps.
Story 1: How should Bertie think about new videos being promoted to him?
Story 2: How should Bertie manage social contact during his use of an app?
Story 3: What would Bertie think about his data being tracked by people via his favorite apps?
